We begin by stating the obvious: as development practitioners, we do not work alone. We manage and implement projects together with and through different partners.
Two years ago, we started a learning expedition on how monitoring and results measurement helps projects know what works and what does not work. For this, we approached 15 projects implemented by Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
A mandatory minimum 30% of the trainees in two Nepalese reconstruction projects were female, in a drive to give women opportunities not only to learn new skills, but to gain employment afterwards.
